What are the key academic programs and curriculum features?
The main programs are the two-year PGP (general MBA), PGP-LSM (MBA with focus on liberal studies), and PGP-Finance (two-year finance MBA). All are CAT-based. The curriculum is case-method-focused, with a mix of core courses (e.g. Accounting, Econ, OB, QM, Strategy) in Year 1 and electives in Year 2. Students undertake a summer internship after Semester 2 (for PGP/PGP-Finance) and a fieldwork project (for PGP-LSM). Credit weightage is on academic performance and summer projects. Executive courses include the one-year PGPX (GMAT/CAT plus interview selection) with a blended structure of on-campus modules and projects.
What is the academic calendar like at IIM K?
The academic year typically starts in July. Each year has two semesters: Jul–Oct and Dec–Mar. Short breaks occur around the year-end. Summer break (April–June) is for internships (PGP) or projects.
What extracurricular activities and student clubs are there?
IIM Kozhikode has a lively campus life.
